The 4 Types Of Luck
Working hard is great, but sometimes, for success, you also need a little luck to help you along the way…
If you want to be lucky, you need to understand the four types of luck:
Blind luck.
Luck from motion.
Luck from awareness.
Luck from uniqueness.
So, how do you increase your chances of getting lucky?
Increase your luck surface area. This means putting yourself in situations where you're more likely to encounter good luck. (For example, go to networking events, attend industry conferences, and reach out to people you admire.)
Be aware of your surroundings. Pay attention to the opportunities that are around you. Don't just sit back and wait for luck to find you.
Be unique. Embrace your strengths and qualities. Don't be afraid to stand out from the crowd.
Remember, luck is a big part of success, but it's not the only thing. You also need to work hard and be smart. But if you can increase your luck surface area, be aware of your surroundings, and be unique, you'll be well on your way to achieving your goals.
Here's a simple way to increase your luck surface area:
Every day, do something that scares you a little bit. It could be talking to a stranger, giving a presentation, or starting a new business. The more you put yourself out there, the more likely you are to encounter good luck.
Now go out there and make your own luck!
Random Knowledge Drop:
Once upon a time, a type 1 diabetes diagnosis spelled doom. Think ancient Egypt, 3,000 years ago 📜. Centuries passed, parents watching helplessly as their diabetic children faced comas and death.
Come the 18th century, doctors found that tweaking diets could slow the beast. Starvation diets, low on carbs, became the lifeline, though not a perfect one 🍽️❌.
Zoom to 1922, Toronto General Hospital. A room full of comatose diabetic children, teetering on the edge 😢. Then, enter the heroes – scientists armed with a purified insulin extract. With each injection, a miracle unfurled 🧪💉🌟.
Meet Frederick Banting and Charles Best. They chose ethics over profit, selling the insulin patent to the University of Toronto for a measly $1. "Insulin belongs to the world, not me," declared Banting 🌎💰👏.
Their legacy asks us: What would we do for the greater good? Can we put humanity before wealth? 🤔🌟
